|Beta LaserMike Displays New Non-Contact Eccentricity Measurement System at Wire & Cable India 2010|
CenterScan 2010 gauge dramatically improves the quality of wire and cable while reducing scrap and increasing productivity
Beta LaserMike, a leading global provider of precision measurement and control solutions, is exhibiting in booth #F3, Hall 6 at Wire & Cable India 2010 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, India (November 18 – 20).
“At this year’s exhibition, we will showcase our new CenterScan 2010 gauge for wire and cable production,” said Mr. V Kumar, Beta LaserMike’s country manager of India. “This non-contact system provides on-line, high-speed eccentricity measurement of wire and cable insulation over a solid or stranded core without touching the product. We’ll also be demonstrating the production advantages of our LaserSpeed length and speed encoder and AccuScan diameter and ovality gauge.”
Beta LaserMike’s CenterScan 2010 measurement system uses highly sensitive magnetic and optical technology to precisely determine the location of the conductor and insulated wire. This information is instantly processed to provide eccentricity, diameter, and ovality measurements, as well as detect product flaws. CenterScan 2010 can reliably measure diameters from 0.1 to 10 mm (0.004 to .40 in) and determine eccentricity and diameter with +0.0005 mm (+0.000020 in) accuracy.
CenterScan 2010 also offers wire and cable manufacturers a number of key advantages, such as:• Compact design for wider range of gauge installation on the production line
• Robust electronics with superior noise immunity for closer placement to line devices
• Factory calibrated for fast, easy setup and simple recompensation
• Accurate product positioning with minimal alignment
Beta LaserMike will also demonstrate its LaserSpeed and AccuScan products that can be used in-line with the CenterScan 2010 gauge for a complete wire and cable measurement system. LaserSpeed is a revolutionary non-contact laser encoder that directly measures length and speed to +0.05% accuracy. AccuScan is an advanced non-contact laser gauge that provides on-line, precision diameter and ovality measurements for increased manufacturing accuracy.
