Beta LaserMike, a global manufacturer of precision measurement and control systems, has been providing accurate length and speed measurement for the Converting market for the past 4 years and will be demonstrating the LaserSpeed this year at CMM International, booth #911.

Setting the standard for non-contact length and speed measurement.

Converters are realizing that they are needlessly losing profit by using old contact length encoders. Contact encoders suffer from slippage, wear and frequent calibrations. All of which quickly eat into profits. By dropping in a LaserSpeed non-contact encoder, profits immediately increase. Why?

Because the LaserSpeed…
• Is 20-40 times more accurate than a contact wheel
• Has no moving parts to wear out and no contact with the material being measured
• Is Permanently calibrated

All these translate to profits, which is why a LaserSpeed costs less than a contact encoder.

The LaserSpeed increases profits for any company whose manufacturing processes benefits from more accurate control of either material length or velocity. These can be used in slitting or rewinding as well as coating and laminating processes. The LaserSpeed® uses a proven technology called Laser Doppler Velocimetry and provides an accuracy of 0.05% on all types of material independent of the structure, color, shape and speed.

The LaserSpeed® series of measurement gauges were designed to be drop in replacements for any type of mechanical encoder. They have proven to provide a typical return on investment of less than 2 months. Savings are achieved through increased accuracy, reduced scrap, less product give-away, reduction of charge backs from short rolls or lengths and reduced maintenance/calibration costs (ie improved uptime).
