Bench-top solution for accurate and reliable off-line part measurement takes center stage at Beta LaserMike booth E-5234

Beta LaserMike, a leading global provider of precision measurement and control solutions, will display some of its key non-contact laser gauges for precisely measuring production parts at IMTS 2010 in Chicago, IL.

Beta LaserMike will showcase its BenchMike table-top system for fast, accurate, and repeatable measurement of parts. This laser measurement device does not touch the product, thereby eliminating part distortion and operator influence which can affect measurements. BenchMike can either be used in a Quality Control (QC) laboratory or on the plant floor to measure a range of part types and part dimensions. Dimension measurements include diameter, multiple ODs, TIR, taper, and part position. BenchMike is available in four different models and provides a measurement range of 0.001" to 2.0" with linearity as low as ±0.000020”.

“We’ll demonstrate how easy it is to use the BenchMike system to perform precise, repeatable part measurements,” said Tom Hemmelgarn, engineering manager at Beta LaserMike. “The system can be configured with ready-to-mount fixtures to properly hold work pieces for any gauging need. We carry a full line of fixtures to measure parts, along with automatic motorized fixtures for part translation and rotation.”

Beta LaserMike will also demonstrate the advantages of its LaserSpeed® system, a revolutionary non-contact laser encoder that directly measures the length and speed of product to +0.05% accuracy. This solution is an ideal gauge for replacing contact tachometers that are prone to a variety of measurement errors and high maintenance costs.

In addition, the Beta LaserMike will exhibit its AccuNet solution, a comprehensive supervisory networking software for multi-gauge applications. It provides multi-axis, precision measurement of the diameter and ovality of parts.
